Overview
Fred’s Meat and Bread is located in Krog Street Market. If you’re unfamiliar with this place you’ll be in for a surprise as it’s a very interesting and a staple in the Atlanta food scene.

Taste – 10/10
This was probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. I ordered the Korean Cheesesteak with ribeye instead of chicken, because what kind of cheese steak has chicken in it? Right off the bat, I was greeted by a suave soaked paper and the intoxicating smell of cooked meat. Normally such a sandwich soaked in sauce would turn me off, but this bread held true. It remained crispy and firm right up until the last bite. The “gochujang” sauce added a very nice kick and the candied jalapenos were a sweet surprise. I also ordered the garlic fries with ranch. I didn’t even touch the fries until after I had finished my sandwich and they were still just as crispy as they were right out if the fryer. The garlic sauce they added in top really complimented the crispness and saltiness of the fries and ranch.

The menu is fairly expansive and has a good selection of other options such as mahi mahi burgers and meatball parms. There are even one or two vegetarian options in the form of a cauliflower and eggplant banh mi (Vietnamese pressed sandwich).

Atmosphere – 8/10
The Krog Street Market is definitely an interesting one. It feels more like a large cafeteria than a group of restaurants. The market is laid out like a big oval so you can walk around and look at all of the options. There is a decently sized seating area where all the patrons from all the restaurants can sit. There is also a bar there if you’re so inclined.

Price – 7/10
The price of the sandwiches was a little on the steep side ranging from ~$12-16 and the fries were ~$5. It’s definitely not breaking the bank, but I wouldn’t come here every week. It’s a great option every now and then when you’re willing to spend a little more than usual.

Service – 9/10
Not much to say about the service here really. It’s basically a self-serve counter. The food comes out quite quick even though they’re fairly busy all the time.

Parking –6/10
The parking here is scarce especially on the weekend. There is free parking, but don’t count on it, otherwise, it’s $5.

Overall – 9/10
Fred’s Meat and Bread is a great option if you’re looking a good sandwich or a very Instagrammable place to eat. The Market is cute and cozy and a great place for a date or for friends.

Seem to be having technical difficulties with the embedded Google Maps, so here’s a screenshot and a link.
